The Rocky Mountain Polynesians
Our Beginning
RMP was born in the spring of 1993.  I had been dancing professionally for several years with
some of the local groups.  As a dancer, I was familiar with the history of the dances and from
which islands they originated but the audience wasn't given the same information.  What a
shame!  I decided to start my own troupe because I really wanted to share all the interesting
stories with the audience.  We also use many different implements.  I thought the audience might
be interested in their names and of what materials they are made.  So, it became clear that it
was time to do things my way.

Our Beliefs
My dancers and I believe in doing the best job we can for our clients.  We practice weekly for
11 months out of the year. We usually take off from Thanksgiving to New Year's Day due to a

request
from our families and for a much needed break.   We do some research, study the
language, and attend as many hula workshops as we possibly can.  We have a lot fun and enjoy
dancing with each other.  Hopefully our love for dancing shows through when we perform.
